MTV mengumumkan daftar nominasi untuk Video Music Awards 2023. Taylor Swift mendominasi daftar dengan delapan nominasi untuk lagu Anti-Hero, termasuk Video of the Year, Artist of the Year, dan Song of the Year.
SZA mengikuti enam nominasi, termasuk Video of the Year dan Song of the Year. Beberapa musisi, seperti Doja Cat, Kim Petras, Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj, Olivia Rodrigo, dan Sam Smith, mengikuti dengan lima nominasi.
Sementara itu, BLACKPINK adalah satu-satunya grup K-pop yang menerima empat nominasi: Best K-Pop, Best Choreography, Best Art Direction, dan Best Editing untuk Pink Venom.
Beberapa musisi yang masuk dalam nominasi MTV VMA untuk pertama kalinya termasuk aespa, boygenius, Burna Boy, Davido, Eslabon Armado, FLETCHER, FIFTY FIFTY, JVKE, Lauren Spencer Smith, Musa Keys, PinkPantheress, dan banyak lagi.
Berdasarkan keterangan tertulis yang diterima, hal itu membuat VMA 2023 mencetak rekor jumlah nominee baru terbanyak, yakni 35. Tahun ini, MTV VMA juga memperkenalkan kategori baru, yakni Best Afrobeats.
Fan masing-masing musisi juga kini bisa mulai memberikan suara kepada idola hingga 1 September di sini. Acara puncak MTV Video Music Awards akan diselenggarakan 12 September di Prudential Center.
